DIY Glitter Soles! Make your wedding shoes SHINE!

It's Tuesday-Shoesday at White Blossom, and this is one you certainly do not want to miss! After coming across this in my weekly wedding trend perusing, I knew it was something I had to share with all of you lovelies. This is one way to make your Wedding Shoes SHINE, without overdoing it! Take a look! :]

1. Here's what you need! Loose Glitter, Sponge Brushes and Decoupage! Martha Stewart has a special place in my heart, and I have always sworn by her products. However, you can certainly use Modge Podge or Tacky Glue, and any brand of glitter if you'd like.

2. Mix Glue and Glitter

3. Start painting the Glitter/Glue combo onto the sole of the Shoe. To be safe, you can use painters tape around the edge, just to ensure you don't make a mess of the shoe :] After you brush the glitter/glue on, sprinkle on the loose glitter.

4. Lastly, Touch-up! Take a small paint brush with the glitter/glue and touch up the edges! And after all the sparkles have dried, it is important that you put a layer of clear sealant over the sole. This can be done with Martha's decoupage or Modge Podge! I would even suggest getting paint on glitter. It has been a great sealer in many of my glitter-fied projects! (Martha makes the best!)

Before/After! Fabulous, Righttttt?!!!!

Be Inspired By THIS!

Today, I am bringing you some ideas inspired by one of the 2012 wedding trends! Watercolor is all the hype this year, and it can be used in so many, many ways! The beautiful, soft strokes and colors prove to be a favorable theme for weddings and events of all types! Below I combined a travel-esque theme, with watercolor elements, including the tags on the bottles/favors, the watercolor map guestbook, and the softness of the colors :] I hope you all enjoy this little bit of inspiration, brought to you exclusively by White Blossom Weddings!

Seka & Tiegh's Engagement Session

I am beyond excited to be working with Seka & Tiegh!   When meeting with them the other day at the beautiful Fountain of Youth in Saint Augustine where their wedding will be held, I was like a little kid all wound up about a new toy!  It's a wonderful thing when a bride & groom come along who bring creativity, fresh ideas, and great personal details to the planning process!   I can't WAIT for the wedding coming up this summer-- but for now, feast your eyes upon the most adorable engagement shoot in the history of mankind.  Tiffany Manning from LoveTif Photography did an AMAZING job of capturing how crazy-in-love these two are.  From the story-book proposal featuring a vintage typewriter on the beach at sunrise, to the passion Tiegh and Seka share for leading an action-packed athletic and healthy lifestyle-- this love story is an epic one.  It is truly an honor to be a part of their wedding day.
This shoot was also featured on Style Me Pretty, with Tiffany coveting the deserving spot in the Little Black Book of Vendors. I can't wait to see the images she captures in May!

Throwing an Engagement Party

You have the ring...NOW WHAT?! You always have the option of throwing an engagement party to let your family and friends in on the big news! EP's are a intimate, fun way to bask in the glory of being engaged! I will let you in on some of the etiquette tips that needed to make sure you don't step on any toes and that everything goes smoothly!

Who typically throws the Engagement Party?
Typically, the bride's parents throw the party, however, in these more modern times, a friend or close family member may take the reins. The easiest way to resolve any controversy that may come about because of this, is to allow the Bride's parents to be the first to offer the celebration. If that means having a second "friends-only" party, so be it! You won't get sick of telling everyone just how cute it was when he was on one knee! :]

Timing is Important for your EP!
It is important to have the party shortly after the engagement occurs,
that way the news is still fairly fresh! You could even plan the party and surprise everyone with the news! This will take some imagination in coming up with a reason for the extravagant gathering, but nonetheless, think about timing!

 Who should I invite?
Ahh, the question that always haunts anyone in the planning process. The guest list will (and should) be much shorter that the wedding guest list. However, it is said that the people invited to the EP should definitely be invited to the wedding, as well. Both families and close friends are certainly the ones that should be priority for the Engagement Party.

What kind of party should I have?
Oh, the options are endless! The cocktail party at the Bride's parent's house is certainly a classic, but does not have to be the route you choose. You could have a more formal party with family, and a more casual party with friends. I love themed engagement parties, as well. They are incredibly fun and memorable for the guests! (As if you getting engaged wasn't already memorable! Ha!)

Gifts for the Host
A tip for any kind of gathering is to give the host a token of your gratitude. By no means does this have to be a huge gift or anything over-the-top. Think about it as a couple and decide on something perfect together. Use that imagination!
