Monica + Mike | Hammock Beach Wedding

8.27.11 - Monica + Mike were SUCH a pleasure to work with! The details of their beachy soiree were unforgettable, much like themselves. From Monica's walk down the aisle, to the very last dance, the wedding couldn't have been any more perfect for these two. They had a lovely ceremony at Hammock Beach Resort, complete with bow ties and love. White Rose Entertainment provided all of the entertainment and music for the couple's night of dancing and fun. The bouquets and flowers were all done by the fabulous, Blooming Flowers & Gifts. These photos were taken and provided to us by Emily Scott, owner of Gem Photo. Lastly, Hair and Makeup was done by Hillary. We were so happy to have had the chance to work with this beautiful couple, and we simply cannot wish them well enough in the future! ENJOY!

Guestbooks Galore!

Brides, let's be real. If your Guestbook looks like this, then we have a problem! Gone are the days of the tulle & lace covered guestbook from the 80's that you sign only your name in; we have moved on to much greater things in the world! Thank goodness! :]

Wedding guestbooks have become more of a keepsake for couples as opposed to their former role as just dust-collectors in the attic. Also, guestbooks are becoming more of a project. There is more thought going into the ideas behind the guestbook, and what kind of presentation it will have. Nothing makes us happier than to see fresh, new ideas! So I will present you with a few that are fun & creative, but as always I encourage you to think outside the box when it comes to your big day!

Wedding Gowns: Trains & Bustles | White Blossom Weddings | Daytona Beach Wedding Planner

Finding the wedding gown of your dreams is similar to finding the man of your dreams-- there are lots of options, but when you find the one-- you'll just know!

The back of your wedding gown probably includes a train-- here are a few types.

Sweeping Train- This is the shortest type of train, and is appropriate for an outdoor ceremony or a casual style. The fabric is just a few inches longer in the back, so it just sweeps along the floor.

Chapel Train- Currently, this is a very popular train length.  Chapel length gives you the drama of a train, but isn't cumbersome with excess fabric.  This train will extend about four feet from the waistline.

Cathedral Train- This is a formal train length, as the fabric extends over seven feet from the waistline.  A removable train or bustle option will be absolutely necessary with this train.

Royal Train-  Think Princess Diana.  This train is as dramatic and formal as it gets-- nine feet or further from the waistline!

Any one of these trains is a beautiful option for your elegant procession down the aisle, but when it's time to break it down on the dance floor, you'll want to bustle your gown!  Bustling is a way to gather the fabric in the back of your gown.  Here are some popular bustle options to make sure you and your guests aren't trampling on your beautiful dress:

French Bustle-  This bustle type, also known as the 'under bustle',  is my personal favorite. Excess fabric is swept underneath the skirt of the dress and secured in place by strings your tailor will install for you.

 Over Bustle-  Your train will be secured by buttons or hooks at the waistline, so when it's time to dance, your gown will be all one length.

Tufted Bustle- Your tailor can create a tufted bustle by applying a pattern of jeweled hooks around the waistline of the dress.

Pick-up Bustle- This type of bustle can be done as a traditional pick-up or a variation on the French bustle. There are large sweeping sections that are connected to one connecting hook at the waistline, so this type of bustle works best with a shorter train.

Whichever style of train and bustle you choose, be sure your mother, maid of honor, or your coordinator completes a 'trial run' to be sure your bustle is the last thing on your mind while you dance the night away!
